October Food Reflections
This October has been full of small food victories, the kind that feel personal and meaningful.
It’s been almost a year since my self-help healing journey began.
Gluten-free cottage cheese bagels have become one of my new go-to comfort foods.
There’s something about the salty everything-seasoning crust, the warm soft inside, and the simple fact that I can enjoy it again that feels like a win.
I’m grateful I can have some dairy now, and even more grateful for rice flour, one of the ingredients that keeps so many foods accessible to me.
I’ve been experimenting gently: salt-brined salmon, simple nourishing lunches, combinations that feel energizing instead of heavy. Some foods still trigger rashes or asthma, so my meals stay pretty intentional. But I’m learning.
When I stay balanced, I can enjoy fried foods or a burger on special occasions without paying the price afterward — something I couldn’t imagine a few months ago.
Healing hasn’t been linear.
It’s been intuitive, patient, and full of paying attention.
The more I tune in, the more I understand how my body speaks: what it asks for, what it pushes back against, what helps it thrive.
It feels like a gift to learn this now.
To know myself deeply.
To honor what my body needs with honesty and care.
