The Return of Cozy Rituals!

October brings back small rituals that feel too hot or heavy during summer.
Iced tea slowly warming into hot tea, ovens turning on again (without the dread of adding more heat to the day), blankets lain back onto chairs and couches.

The house feels different in October. Baking fills the space in a way that felt overwhelming in summer. The porch becomes itself again. The mosquitos fade, the evenings cool, and suddenly there’s room to sit, breathe, and write without the interruption of sweat.

These rituals aren’t extraordinary. They don’t announce themselves.
But they ground me.
They remind me how our bodies come back to rhythm, to warmth, to comfort.
There’s so much beauty in returning to something familiar. something that makes us slow down just a little and remember that our pace is allowed to shift too.

In October, the smallest comforts become invitations to feel at home with ourselves.
